Healthy Learners began operating in Georgetown in early January 2009. The program serves elementary, middle and high school students in Georgetown County School District who lack adequate access to health care. In response to increased deaths by suicide in Georgetown county, Healthy Learners is training teachers, school counselors, and community leaders in Youth Mental Health First Aid in 2019. Click here for more information. Based on our new strategic direction, Healthy Learners is exploring expansion opportunities to meet the needs of children within the Waccamaw region.

“As a parent of a child with Autism, I saw first-hand how access to health care services can positively influence a student’s academic success. Healthy Learners’ mission allows me to serve other children who deserve the same opportunity to reach their potential.”
