Naomi Washington Joins Healthy Learners as the Midlands Program Manager

Healthy Learners is pleased to announce and welcome Naomi Washington as the Midlands Program Manager. In this role Washington will be responsible for the oversight and management of the local Healthy Learners program.

Washington comes to Healthy Learners with over 10 years of experience in the field of social work, but a lifelong passion for service to enhance the lives of those in her community. Prior to joining Healthy Learners, Naomi served as human services program coordinator in the areas of Investigations, Foster Care and Foster Care Licensing for the SC Department of Social Services. She began her career as a front-line investigator of child abuse and neglect with the agency and became familiar with the aspects of human services and child welfare through this role.

Naomi also has non-profit experience working with Communities in Schools of the Midlands and Girl Scouts-Mountains to Midlands where she coordinated on site services in both roles to at-risk youth. She strengthened her knowledge base in the field of social work by joining the University of South Carolina, Center for Child and Family Studies staff as a member of the quality assurance and training divisions focusing on child welfare practice and data.

Washington, a native of Blackville, SC holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Columbia College and a master’s degree in Human Services from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Naomi believes her success is measured by the impact she makes in the lives of those she serves and strives to make sure her presence is impactful through her professional and personal capacities of leadership, mentoring and advocacy.
