Join the Healthy Learners Midlands Team as a Program Manager

Healthy Learners is seeking a Program Manager for the Healthy Learners Midlands program. The Program Manager provides oversight and management of the local Healthy Learners program. This position includes responsibility for insuring that the elements of the process are in place and effectively employed. The Program Manager acts as a liaison between the school nurses and health care providers, but also oversees the schedule and other appropriate arrangements. Performs follow-up action with school nurses and/or parents of each child and evaluates the results of the process. The Program Manager is seen as a resource person to the school nurses for information about the Program and its services.
Bachelors Degree in Health Care, School Nursing or an appropriate discipline required (Masters Degree preferred). Nursing knowledge and assessment skills required to identify children’s health problems as well as a knowledge base for evaluation and treatment of conditions. Understanding of computer programs and databases needed for documentation and recordkeeping. Must have strong organizational and time management skills; as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to plan and organize the activities of others; the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals dedicated to improving children’s health; and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at one time including prioritizing needs for effective resolution.
Healthy Learners, located in Columbia, South Carolina is a Ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System. Healthy Learners was established in 1992 to help alleviate health related barriers to learning that face children who are in need and without resources. Currently, five Healthy Learners programs serve 150 schools in 12 school districts across South Carolina.
