Healthy Learners Seeks Golf Tournament Director

Healthy Learners, a faith-based non-profit of the Sisters of Charity Health System that connects children to care so that poor health is not an obstacle to doing well in school, is seeking a Contractual Golf Tournament Director. Working closely with the Director of Development and volunteers, this position is responsible for directing and coordinating the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, the Healthy Learners Champions for Children Golf Tournament in Memory of George Younginer. The director is responsible for the conception and execution of the event and all its accompanying logistics. The 2015 tournament will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Ft. Jackson Golf Club in Columbia, South Carolina. This is a contractual position for April 2015 – November 2015, averaging 15-20 hours per week (negotiable).
The position requires a mission-driven and highly skilled event planner with personal and professional characteristics that include, but are not limited to: strong familiarity at the local level, generalist fundraising knowledge and skills, ability to work effectively with limited administrative assistance, superior verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, ability to engage in the community on behalf of Healthy Learners, and willingness to secure sponsorships and solicit gifts.
