In an effort to strengthen its development resources, Healthy Learners is proud to announce and welcome Aundrea’ Simons as the organization’s fund development associate. Simons will be responsible for directing, coordinating and growing the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, the Healthy Learners Champion for Children Golf Tournament in Memory of George Younginer, as well as the execution of the event and all its accompanying logistics. In this role, she will also provide support to and work in collaboration with the director of development on fundraising campaigns, appeals and special projects.
Simons’ work experience includes work in the nonprofit sector with Elevations Youth Development Outreach, Inc., as a youth advocate. She joins the Healthy Learners team with strong leadership and customer service skills, which will help her make an easy transition into her current role with Healthy Learners. Simons considers herself a people person and supports the mission of Healthy Learners whole heartedly.
A high school graduate of Lower Richland High School, Simons pursued an undergraduate degree in Sociology then continued her educational aspirations by receiving her master of public administration (MPA) degree from South University. She is an active member at the Antioch AME Zion Church in Eastover, SC. Simons states that she is motivated and lives by the scripture, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” She will be a welcome addition to the Healthy Learners family.
