Healthy Learners Georgetown provides access to health care for children who are in need and without resources in all schools in the Georgetown County School District.
Our target population is the children who would otherwise fall through the “cracks” of the system. This includes students whose families do not have private pay capability and those students who have Medicaid but who need assistance in accessing appropriate health care. Students with identified health needs and little or no means of funding are referred to Healthy Learners by their school nurse. School nurses use the free/reduced lunch guidelines to help determine financial eligibility; however service may be determined on a case by case basis.
