Songwriters in the Round 2019

2015 Songwriters Title (HL15.2_ProgramTitle)

Thank you for supporting the ninth annual, Nashville Songwriters in the Round concert, benefiting Healthy Learners Georgetown.  The one-of-a-kind event was held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the home of Julie and Rob Honeycutt.  There was an exciting line up of talented and popular songwriters that made the night a memorable one.

The Songwriters in the Round event has become “the event” of the town to attend! It is hosted at one of the most beautiful locations in the south east, catered by the best local restaurant in the area, and brings in talent like no other! The artists this year were certainly one-of-a-kind and will be the next top charting artists. Each songwriter was so unique from the next, yet brought a magical uniqueness when combined; from a sassy, southern chick to a seasoned classic strong man, the talent was remarkable.

“It is a great event to network and get to know the local business people of Georgetown County. Aside from all this, the event is crucial to the children of Georgetown. The sponsorship funds raised assist in gaining the resources needed for children to prosper in school and life,” said Santana LeRoy, Owner | Planner | Coordinator of EVENTS BY SANTANA.  “This event not only bridges the gap for the community and businessmen, but for the children as well. It is an honor to be a part of this event and bettering the Georgetown community and future.”

Healthy Learners, a faith-based non-profit that connects children to care so that poor health is not an obstacle to doing well in school, is the recipient of this year’s proceeds. Your support will help give children access to basic services we take for granted including: eyeglasses, dental care, medications, transportation and so much more!

As always, please feel free to contact us should you have any questions regarding this year’s or next year’s event.  Telephone Marge Rath, Director of Development at 803-454-0350 extension 4 or Aixa Rodriguez-Mariani, Program Manager in Georgetown at 843-436-7020.  Again, thank you for your support!

Featured Artists

Brett Jones
Singer/Songwriter Brett Jones began his musical journey as a staff writer for country Legend Ronnie Milsap in 1991.
Since then he has had over 200 Major Label recordings and won 5 BMI awards along with 8 ASCAP radio performance awards.

Besides being a captivation stage performer and stylist in his own right, other artists who have recorded his songs include: Jason Aldean, Tracy Lawrence, Reba, Montgomery Gentry, Billy Currington, Justin Moore, Toby Keith, Chris Ledeoux, Trace Atkins, Lee Ann Womack, John Michael Montgomery, Daryl Worley, Kenny Chesney, Andy Griggs and many more.

His remarkable career has included 14 top ten singles along with 7 #1 country records spanning the past 3 decades.

Phillip Lammonds
Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, outdoorsman, husband and dad. Phillip Lammonds describes his musical and writing styles, and inspiration as “Raking through the toolbox of life.” “Songs aren’t written, they are caught like a fish. They are out there waiting. They just aren’t always biting,” says Lammonds, describing his constant desire and drive to weave a tapestry from every thing, emotion and experience around him.

He is originally from the mountains near Asheville, NC. It is that melting pot of sounds and rhythms, along with the saltwater sweetened influences he absorbed, while putting down his live oak roots in the SC lowcountry, that have formed his musical sensibilities. He is an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He believes that a lot of life’s questions about truth, faith and mystery can be answered by “Just a walk in the woods. His philosophies are interwoven into his songs. He now calls Nashville “Home away from home” and is a full time writer for Curb/Word Publishing. He has written with, and had songs recorded by such artists as Lee Brice, Darius Rucker, Hootie and The Blowfish, Blake Shelton, Kellie Pickler, Tyler Farr, Jerrod Niemann, Craig Morgan, to name a few.

David Tucker

Born in Athens, GA, 20 year old David grew up in the small town of Augusta, KY and has been developing his country music skills since the age of 7. He began by playing drums, and then moved on to become a very skilled guitarist. Later, David started singing at the church, where his father was the pastor and mother led worship.

As his musical talents progressed and his passion grew, David picked up several other instruments, including saxophone, bass guitar, and piano. He began writing original songs at the age of 12 and went on to perform those songs for his community at local festivals and school events. After graduating high school, David traveled to Nashville to enter and win a music competition held by the famous Martin Guitar Company. David recently signed with Allen Svirdoff as his manager of Production Central in Los Angeles, California.

Lainey Wilson

Signed to BBR Music Group’s flagship imprint, Broken Bow Records, Wilson has spent years honing her song craft and developing her own “bell bottom country” sound, which is unapologetic, gritty, free-spirited, and exemplary of both her personality and her preferred fashion aesthetic.

Wilson’s determined openness and salt-of-the-earth upbringing has prepared her well for the year ahead. She is starting 2019 with a supporting slot on chart-topping artist Morgan Wallen’s If I Know Me Tour before going in-studio to record her first project for Broken Bow Records. The year ahead may be full of early mornings, late nights, and many more firsts for the charismatic singer/songwriter, but Wilson remains undaunted – energized, even – by the long days ahead of her.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 2018 NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS IN THE ROUND

The Nashville Songwriters in the Round annual event took place on Friday, April 27, 2018  at the home of Rob & Julie Honeycutt in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

“Songwriters in the Round is one of the most fascinating ways to get involved in the community and be side by side with south’s finest! The event was full of impressionable aspects all the way from the stunning venue overlooking the marsh of Pawleys Island down to delectable catering by Bistro 217. Four of Nashville’s great singer-songwriters dazzled the crowd with their well-known billboard songs written for some of country music’s top artist,” said Santana LeRoy, owner planner coordinator of Events by Santana. “The songwriters were up close and personal with the 200+ guests and played well into the night which later ended with an unforgettable musical fountain grande finale. The community members were beyond generous in assisting Healthy Leaners with their goal of breaking barriers for children in need in the Georgetown County. I am beyond grateful to be a part of such an amazing event and caring organization.”
