Adult Spelling Bee 2019
A fast-paced competition with 57 teams of 4 adults worked to correctly spell words as a team. The event took place on September 24, 2019 at the Emerald High School Gym. The event raised over $45,000 to benefit Healthy Learners Greenwood. We appreciate your support!
Becky McIntosh, Healthy Learners fund development coordinator said, “Healthy Learners Greenwood is blessed to have an amazing team of 22 active Friends of Healthy Learners who happily and gingerly give of their time and talents to help make this Spelling Bee a success. No one person could do it all alone. One “Friend” commented that she loves being a part of this “well-oiled machine” called a Spelling Bee!”
“The community of Greenwood has responded enthusiastically to this event which has a tremendous impact on the level of participation. We had 57 teams competing this year, including schools, colleges, businesses, industries, churches, and non-profits. They are competitive and yet, they genuinely care about the children we serve,” said Becky.
McIntosh also commented that it has been a true pleasure to do this work with Healthy Learners.
